It is essential that the digital images of your artwork are of the highest professional quality. The standards that apply to traditional slide documentation also apply to the digital slide format.

OR set the image width to 1024 pixels if your image format is horizontal.
5. Click Ok.
6. Save it as a JPEG file format. Name the file correctly including the .jpg file extension.
For example: 01LastName.jpeg

PHOTOSHOP TIPS

The steps below show one method of formatting images using Adobe Photoshop, those proficient with the software may have different methods. I have determined these to be the best for novices.

1. Start out with an original uncompressed image file that has been prepped and is at minimum no less than 10 inches after cropping, adjusting contrast, adjusting color, sharpening, etc. You will adjust the files to meet the image specification size by following the steps below:
2. Open the file in Adobe Photoshop.
3. Go to Image - Image Size to open the Image Size dialogue box.
4. Under Document Size - Set Resolution to 300 pixels/inch.
5. Under Pixel Dimension: If the vertical edge is longest, set it to 768 pixels. If the horizontal edge is longest, set it to 1024 pixels.
Constrain Proportions and Resample Image are checked off by default.
Leave the setting at Bicubic.
6. Click OK.
7. Go to: File - Save As
Name it in the manner specified on the application:
Use sequential 2 digit numbers and your last name, no spaces. For example: 01Jones.jpeg
8. In the pull down menu make sure the Setting is JPEG.
9. In Jpeg Options the Quality should be at Maximum.
10. In Format Options select Baseline. Click Save or OK
Save your image as a JPEG in a folder that is easy to find on your computer.
11. You are done with the first image.
Repeat these steps for the rest of the images you plan to burn to your CD.
